Be Part of TKS Grade 8 Community Conference!

24 February, 2025

As the capstone project for the Middle School Program, Grade 8 students will hold one-on-one conferences with mentors from the KAUST community.

Our Grade 8 students have been collecting, curating, and developing the story of their learning during their time in Middle School.  They have accumulated evidence about their interests, passions, strengths, accomplishments, and challenges, and it is valuable for them to be able to discuss their journey so far, and their thoughts for the future, with adult mentors.  These mentors can encourage them to reflect and plan, and provide helpful advice.

We are looking for community volunteers to meet with Grade 8 students for a 20-30 minute conversation with each.  Mentors will chat with the student and then share short written feedback and reflections with their mentee.  The commitment is to meet with one, or up to three, students.

The Grade 8 Community Conference will take place from 8.00 am – 10.00 am on Sunday, May 18, in Buliding 19.  In addition, we would require volunteers to attend  an orientation session at 12.30 pm – 1.30 pm on Sunday, May 11 in Building 5, Room 5209, where we will detail the format of the conference and provide essential advice on how to listen to and mentor adolescents.

If you would like to sign-up to volunteer at the Grade 8 Community Conference, please complete the Community Conference Volunteer Form.  The form will collect information about your areas of interest and expertise, so that we can pair you with a student with similar interests and aspirations.

Thank you for your interest and generosity in helping guide a young person toward their best future!
