The International Arboretum at KAUST, previously known as the Global Garden, was established in 2009 with trees representing 55 countries. To reflect the increased diversity of the KAUST community, which now spans 122 countries, a rededication project began in 2021. This project included planting new trees, extending irrigation and walkways, upgrading lighting, and adding benches. The park now serves as a tranquil retreat and educational site, with features such as 120 flags, 50 species of trees, and a total surface area of 5,591 square meters.

KAUST has an amazing collection of palms, trees, and shrubs. This worldwide collection features plants of more than 120 species.
