In collaboration with WEP, Campus and Community are offering a running clinic to the KAUST community!
It will be led by Mr. Abdullah Aljoud, a former Olympic professional runner and the half-marathon national record holder in Saudi Arabia, Miznah Alnassar and Abdullah Dehwah. The speakers will introduce running as an exercise method that can positively impact personal health and lifestyle when done correctly. They will guide participants, including amateurs and beginners, on the proper running techniques to avoid injuries. Additionally, this session will help runners understand how to safely push their boundaries and limits in all types of sports.
Event Details:
The program will consist of two parts:
Theoretical Part (45 min): This will be conducted through in-class presentations covering topics such as how to start running, appropriate running attire, selecting running shoes, choosing running surfaces, proper running form, injury prevention, and when to run through pain.
Practical Session (45 min): Participants will apply what they've learned in class. A typical session will include a proper warm-up, stretching, speed workouts, running form practice, and a cool-down. This part is held on the field, with practice taking place on the track immediately after class for a hands-on experience.
All levels of runners, including beginners, amateurs, and advanced runners, are welcome to join. Note: This does not count as part of WEP hours. Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. To maintain the quality of the workshop we can only take on 20 participants.
