Cattery Open Day Highlights and Feedback

16 September, 2026

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the first Cattery Open Day on Friday, September 11.

The event, organized by the Animal Welfare Club and supported by Campus and Community (C&C), Al Hamra Veterinary Clinic and the Ministry of DJs, welcomed more than 200 community members, including over 60 children. All entrance fees went toward supporting the Cattery and its care for KAUST community cats.

Families and friends had the chance to learn more about the meaningful work happening at the Cattery, meet its cats and enjoy an evening of activities, including cat-toy making, face painting, a bake sale and DJ music. Five cats also found forever homes during the event.

Al Hamra Pet Care Clinic, together with its partners, Zoetis and Gosbi (Royal Canin), shared tips on responsible pet ownership and treated attendees to product samples.

Event shuttle buses provided smooth transportation to and from the Cattery, while the Coastline Ice Cream Van and complimentary BBQ and drinks kept everyone refreshed and fed throughout the evening.
