Friday Prayer|A Reminder for Parents and Guardians

05 November, 2026

Friday prayer holds a special place in our community, and the Khutbah (Friday sermon) calls for calm and attentive listening. We have received some feedback about noise and movement during the Khutbah and prayer, and we kindly ask for your support in keeping the mosques peaceful for everyone.

Please observe the following guidance:

  • Children under 7 must remain with a parent or guardian at all times while inside the mosque.
  • Children aged 7-10 should sit and pray beside a parent or guardian throughout the Khutbah and prayer.
  • Please remind children to remain quiet and avoid running or playing anywhere in the mosque, including the courtyard and entrances, during the Khutbah and prayer.
  • If a child becomes restless, please step out with them and return once they have settled.

A short conversation before arriving can help children understand what to expect and prepare them for attending Friday prayers.

Children are always warmly welcome at KAUST mosques. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping them peaceful and respectful places of worship for all.
