KAUST is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all members of the community. We’d like to remind everyone that smoking, including e-cigarettes, vaping devices, or any similar products that produce smoke or vapor when used is prohibited on all university premises except in designated smoking areas and private residences.
Please note that, effective immediately, the designated smoking areas near Buildings 16, 19 & 20 have been removed due to their high visibility and proximity to high-traffic areas. Smokers are kindly requested to use the designated areas indicated in the map below.
Please access the KAUST Smoking Policy for more information.
Trying to quit?
KAUST is committed to supporting individuals who wish to quit smoking. Individuals can access support for quitting smoking through family medicine at KAUST Health. The Employee Wellbeing Program (Lyra) also offers a range of resources that you may also find useful.
We appreciate your awareness as the success of a non-smoking policy depends on thoughtful community citizenship, consideration, and cooperation of smokers and non-smokers alike.
KAUST supports the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 Quality of Life Program and strategic tobacco control plan which aims to reduce smoking rates from 12.7% to 5% by 2030 in addition to UN Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good health and well-being.
