The KAUST Sharing is Caring campaign is an annual community initiative that has been running since 2015. It brings the KAUST community together during Ramadan and Eid to support families in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia.
The campaign reflects KAUST’s values of well-being, lifelong learning, and community engagement, while creating meaningful ways to give back.
Each year, KAUST community members donate gifts and essential supplies that are distributed locally. These include food hampers with healthy seasonal ingredients and cooking supplies, as well as Eid gift boxes for children containing educational toys, books, and healthy sweets.
The initiative starts during Ramadan and encourages participation from residents of all ages. KAUST works closely with local stakeholders in Thuwal to ensure support is delivered where it is needed most.
This year, the campaign places a strong focus on responsible and sustainable giving. All food hampers are carefully prepared and distributed through our trusted partner, Albir Charity, to ensure efficient and meaningful impact.
How to contribute
You can support the campaign by donating through Albir Charity, which helps deliver food hampers on behalf of the KAUST community:
- Online via the donation website
- In person at Tamimi Supermarket kiosk and KAUST Health (Debit/Credit cards accepted)

This year, more than 40 volunteers came together at Discovery Square on Wednesday, March 4, to pack and prepare food hampers, making the initiative a strong example of community spirit in action.
The Sharing is Caring campaign continues to grow each year, strengthening the connection between KAUST and Thuwal through generosity and shared purpose during Ramadan and Eid.
