KAUST Daycare
KAUST Daycare offers excellent opportunities, facilities, and resources for children from the age of 2 months to 3 ½ years to grow, develop, learn, and play. There are currently 2 daycare facilities: Island Daycare and Harbor Early Childhood Center. Our purpose-built centers provide excellent early childhood care, as well as afterschool, and school holiday cover for children who attend TKS Kindergarten. Our afterschool programs help children achieve a smooth transition to the IB-accredited school at KAUST.
The KAUST Daycare team believes that parents and staff working together provide the best experiences for a child’s ongoing development. There are a number of ways to get involved:
Open Door Policy – Parents are welcome to visit the center at any time of the day and join in some of the many indoor or outdoor activities the children enjoy.
Information Sharing – we encourage daily contact with the classroom teachers so that any information regarding the child can be shared. Parents also receive a digital daily report with photos and information of their child’s activities. Every month, parents receive the monthly newsletter to inform them of any special events and share more details on
Parent Conferences – these occur twice a year and give parent’s the opportunity to learn about their child’s development, ask questions, and receive more in-depth feedback.
Special Events – parents are invited and welcome to celebrate key events with their child/children, e.g. Graduation, Universal Children’s Day, Saudi National Day.
As part of our continuous improvement, we conduct two daycare satisfaction surveys per year with the parents of the registered children. The last bi-annual survey took place in December 2023.
The overall satisfaction rate in the latest survey was 93.2%. This is a slight decrease compared to the previous survey in May 2023. However, it is still very high and continues to show that parents are happy and satisfied with the service and level of care being provided.
The service scored relatively high in all sections including:
In addition, we also received 70+ comments. Lots of these were positive, especially concerning the teachers & classroom staff. However, we also received many suggestions and negative sentiments. These are reviewed and anonymously shared with the daycare management team so that we learn from them and work on future improvements and developments.
