Two health and well-being workshops were hosted on November 22 and 29 2017 at KAUST, delivered by Amna Malik, the clinical dietician based at KAUST Health, with the support of four nutritionists from Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital.

Two health and well-being workshops were hosted on November 22nd and 29th 2017 at KAUST, delivered by Amna Malik, the clinical dietician based at KAUST Health, with the support of four nutritionists from Dr Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. Female residents of Thuwal and Qadimah were invited, with a total of 70 attendees attending the two workshops.

Football teams from The KAUST School and Thuwal have been getting together for a series of regular football matches and practice sessions throughout November and December 2017. The games have alternated between pitches at TKS and Thuwal ensuring both sides get to experience a little of each other’s school life. These matches have been a great way of getting our communities together as any language barrier is replaced by the international language of football.

As part of Social Responsility’s Young Learners’ Development Program, KAUST hosted two Mangrove Walkabouts in October 2017 with students from Thuwal Boys’ and Girls’ Schools joining Brian James, Biodiversity Conservation Co-ordinator and volunteers Enaam Tamboosi and Mariam Awlia

The Sixth Annual Back to School Campaign ran from August 14 to September 18 2017. The campaign supports the University’s neighbors in Thuwal and Qadimah by providing essential school supplies to local children to start the year off with the right equipment.

The initiative helps improve access to education and enhances home learning environments through targeted, need-based support.
